What is Southend Gang Show?
Southend Gang Show is a local community group which encourages Scouts and Guides from the Southend, Rayleigh, Crouch Valley and Castle Point area to sing, dance and act. We have two shows, It's a Date which is a variety show held every two years at the Palace Theatre and SHINDIGS, a day of singing, acting and dancing.
When is the next It's a Date?
The next It's a Date show will be in February 2026.

When is the next SHINDIGS?
The next SHINDIGS will be held in March 2025.
How old do I need to be to be a part of It's a Date?
To audition for the main cast for It's a Date you must be in the Scouts or Guides and above and under the age of 26 by February 2026.
The Junior Gang for It's a Date 2026 is school years 6 and 7.
To participate in SHINDIGS you must also be in Scouts or Guides and above. SHINDIGS does not have a Junior Gang.
The Band is open to all those in Year 8 and above.
I'm a Scout/Guide in Southend can I join?
Of course! As long as you fit the age criteria, are an active member of Scouting or Guiding and from one of the below districts or divisions, you can join!
Southend Gang Show is open to Scouts, Explorer Scouts and Network members from the following districts: Southend West, Southend Estuary, Crouch Valley and Castle Point.
Southend Gang Show is open to Guides and Senior Section members from the following divisions: Southend East, Southend West, Rayleigh and Castle Point.

I'm a leader in Scouts/Guides in Southend, how can I get involved?
If you are an adult volunteer within Scouting and Guiding and would like to get involved with Southend Gang Show please apply to join Southend Gang Show Active Support Unit (ASU). Note you do not have to already be involved in Scouting or Guiding to join Southend Gang Show ASU.
The Southend Gang Show ASU manage the administration for all adult volunteers involved with Southend Gang Show and It's a Knockout events. It is free to join as long as you are over 18 (or 16 for It's a Knockout only).

How can I buy tickets for It's a Date or SHINDIGS?
Tickets for It's a Date 2026 will go on sale in Autumn 2025.
Tickets for SHINDIGS are only available to the relatives of cast, band and adult volunteers participating in the show.

What is Southend Gang Show ASU?
Southend Gang Show Active Support Unit (ASU) help to assist with the running of Southend Gang Show, SHINDIGS and It's a Knockout events. All adult volunteers that participate in Southend Gang Show, SHINDIGS and It's a Knockout are all members of Southend Gang Show ASU and are DBS checked.

GroupSpaces has now been replaced by Online Club Manager (OCM).
If you are an existing cast or band member or a parent you can log into OCM by using the link here and entering your email address and password.
