If you're involved in Scouting or Guiding in the Southend, Rayleigh, Castle Point or Crouch Valley area then you can become part of Southend Gang Show. Whether you're an adult volunteer or young person you can join in. 

Southend Gang Show is open to Scouts, Explorer Scouts, Network members, Young Leaders and Leaders from the following districts: Southend West, Southend Estuary, Crouch Valley and Castle Point. 

Southend Gang Show is open to Guides, Senior Section, Young Leaders and Leaders from the following divisions: Southend East, Southend West, Rayleigh and Castle Point. 

Within Southend Gang Show, we have two shows in which you can participate:

It's a Date

What we're best known for! It's a Date is a bi-annual variety show performed at the Palace Theatre in February. Our next It's a Date will take place in February 2026. Our week-long show gives young people the chance to be part of a real stage show, make new friends, perform on stage and have fun! 

To audition for the main cast of It's a Date you need to be in the Scouts or Guides or above and under the age of 26 by the time of the show.

For the Junior Gang, you need to be in school years 6 or 7.

SHINDIGS

Standing for SHow IN a Day In Guiding and Scouting, SHINDIGS is a fast paced, action packed day where Scouts and Guides from the Southend, Castle Point and Crouch Valley area come together to put on a Gang Show in a day. 

To participate in SHINDIGS you must be in Scouts or Guides or above. There is no Junior Gang for SHINDIGS.

The next SHINDIGS will take place on 15th March 2025. Applications are now open here!

Joining the Crew!

If you are interested in becoming an adult volunteer for Southend Gang Show or It's a Knockout please apply to join Southend Gang Show Active Support Unit (ASU). 

The Southend Gang Show ASU manage the administration for all adult volunteers involved with Southend Gang Show and It's a Knockout events. It is free to join as long as you are over 18 (or 16 for It's a Knockout only).
