Southend ASU goes 'Back to the Knockout' at Essex International Jamboree

Southend ASU returned to Essex International Jamboree 2016 running their Back to the Future themed It's a Knockout.

Back to the Future was the theme of It’s a Knockout at this year’s Essex International Jamboree. The Jamboree which takes place every four years, played host to 10,000 scout and guide participants, group leaders and adult volunteers for a week in Boyton Cross, Chelmsford. Southend ASU where asked once again to put on their fun filled It’s a Knockout activity and a 30 strong team obliged with another activity to remember at the UKs biggest Jamboree.

As one of 30 programme zones, Back to the Knockout provided two and a half hours of team work, mental tasks and physical challenges. There where ten games in total for sub camps to participate in and of course the chance to earn bonus points between games when the whole team were seen dancing. In total Southend ASU ran twelve Back to the Knockout sessions including a staff and celebration day session.

Daniel Wanna, Southend ASU Manager and Programme Zone Manager for Back to the Knockout said, ‘Once again we’ve had a fantastic week at Essex International Jamboree, the whole Southend ASU team worked incredibly hard to ensure all 6,000 scouts and guides had a fantastic time when they visited the Back to the Knockout zone. Thanks so much to everyone at EIJ for making the week a memorable one’.
