After the success of winning their class at Southend Carnival 2016, Southend Gang Show were also selected as the People's Choice winners by the public. This week Gang Show members collected the award. 

This week Southend Scout and Guide Gang Show attended Southend Mayor's residence, Porters to collect the Joyce Kerr People's Cup. Gang Show where awarded the cup after their float at Southend Carnival was chosen as the people's choice.  

Southend Gang Show's float had a mechanical theme this year with two retro mini's supported by cast members dressed as mechanics rolling tires, chanting and having fun!

Senior Section and Gang Show cast members Millie Goddard and Chloe Nuttman attended the event to collect the award from the Mayor as well as Joyce Kerr's family members. 

James Jackson, Southend Gang Show Marketing Manager said 'It's fantastic to have been chosen and awarded the People's Choice for our Carnival float. It was great to be part of a fantastic event and to win the awards was the icing on the cake. Thanks to everyone at Southend Carnival for their hardwork to put on the carnival every year, to the people of Southend for chosing us and to everyone at Southend Gang Show who was involved in putting together our float this year'.
